What Is the Difference Between 2 Cm Granites and 3 Cm Granites?
The difference between the two is the thickness. 2 cm is ¾” thick and 3 cm is 1 ¼” thick. The 2 cm thickness is fine for some bathroom vanity countertops or fireplace hearths. The 3 cm thickness is typically what is installed in residential applications, and this additional thickness is needed in any areas where there are large overhangs.
If I Get Granite Countertops, Will There Be Seams?
Most large granite installations require seams because we have to work within the size constraints of the granite slab(s) and ensure that our crew is able to install the countertops safely. Our seams are very flat, and we use a 2-part, color-matched epoxy, making the seams very subtle.
Do Granite Countertops Need to Be Sealed?
Yes. All natural stones are porous and need to be sealed regularly. Our installation crew seals all of our installed countertops, and we encourage you to use blue Dawn dish detergent, 409 Stone and Steel Cleaner, or Dupont Revitalizer to maintain this stone sealer.
Is Radon in Granite Countertops Something I Should Worry About?
The Marble Institute of America has conducted many studies that show that the very minor amounts of radon emitted by granite countertops do not pose any health risks to homeowners or consumers.
How Can I Estimate the Cost of My Granite Countertops?
When you visit our showroom, just bring with you a basic drawing of the area that'll need granite countertops along with some measurements. We'll be happy to assist you in narrowing down the many options for countertops, and we can provide price estimates for you based on your drawing and color selections. But don't worry; our crew will take final measurements for your countertops before we cut anything.
Is It Possible to Choose My Granite Slabs?
We encourage you to choose your granite slab(s) before we start the fabrication process. Because granite is natural, it can vary widely from one slab to the next. We keep a variety of slab options in stock for you at our location in Florence so that you can select from our current inventory.
